Power saving and High efficiency is the global aim. Engineers worldwide are devoting to develop the high efficiency motors. The consuming of power due to Iron loss and copper loss can reach nearly 60% of motor efficiency at most. Four basic inner-power loss occurred while motor operating, such as Copper loss, Iron loss, Friction & Mechanical loss and Stray loss. If we can decrease the inner loss of motors, the greater efficiency we can reach. There are various Energy Standard to examine the motor efficiency worldwide. In Taiwan, we take CNS 14400 for examination. When speaking of High efficiency motor, we mean it is CNS 14400 low voltage, 3 phases, squirrel-cage induction motor.

Application:

  • In order to increase the efficiency of HEV motors, not only the construction, magnets type, winding type, but also the material of Silicon Steel Lamination. Remember in the Development section, we list out 4 basic inner loss of motors. Among all loss, 35% IS FROM STATOR AND 25% IS FROM ROTOR. Motor core is a major reason for energy loss. How to decrease the loss and increase the efficiency? The easiest way is changing the material of stator rotor lamination. Most HEV motor cores adapt with material 50CS470, equal with M470-50AS in Europe and 47F280 in USA. Certainly, the price for 50CS470 is higher. But, please take consider with the long-term operation. You can image how much money you can save from the electric bill. By the way, the major type of HEV motor is PMM, Permanent Magnet Motor, and they are almost BLDC motors.

Features:

  • The basic frame of high efficiency motors is exactly the same with standard motors. It’s easily to do the replacement. You can see enormous saving from the electric bill comparing the difference between them. Below is the formula to evaluate how much money you can save. The longer the motor working; the more money saving. By the way, the life time of motors is 15-20 years. High efficiency motor can keep its high efficiency for long term due to its high quality production under normal use.

Tolerance:

  • We can control the tolerance to make stator smooth and accurate. Please understand the tolerance differs from different material of silicon steel lamination and design of mold. Usually, it is within 0.03mm-0.05mm.

IE3/IE4 Efficiency:

  • There are 24 types of high efficiency motors passed UL certification for customers’ options. Those motors are IE3/GB2/Premium grade. The Efficiency can reach 91.7% (Standard according to CNS 14400:2012) at highest. Among them, the biggest Horse Power is 10HP, 4P/2P depends on the application, 50-60Hz. Most customers use it in 4 poles single phase/3 phases blower motors and industrial motors, ranging from 1HP ~ 3HP.There are 2 types of rotors for options. The slots of stator are 36T and the slots of rotor are 28T / 44T (2 types). If you need bigger torque and long-time operation for your motors, choose the rotor with 44T. If your application is fans or pumps, we suggest you to use the rotor with 28T. By using this stator rotor, you can reach low noise, long lifespan and low maintenance.

The slots of stator are 24T and the slots of rotor are 29T.The rotor OD is smaller than the stator ID after stamping – No-Gap design. So that you can save one machinery. The stator outer diameter is 140 mm and the stator inner diameter is 75 mm. Most customers use it in 2 poles design with single phase or three phases induction motors, ranging from 0.5HP ~ 2HP. It's suitable for the standard IEC frame no. 90L.The slots of stator are 24T and there are two types of rotors, one is with 18T for three-phase motor and the other is with 33T for single-phase motor.
